As a neuroscientist, my main interest is to understand the brain basis for flexible and automatic cognitive control over decisions, habitual performance and emotionally-driven behaviours. Causal and neuroimaging methods allow me establishing brain-behaviour relationships in fundamental cognitive operations that guide the rationale to potentially exert some impact in clinical conditions. I also love playing/listening music, making bread and reading.

POST-DOCS
Hazel Zeynep Kurada
Having M.A and Ph.D. degrees in Linguistics department from Ankara University, I've been part of the Speech & Language Therapy Department, Hacettepe University for 9 years. My main research interests are Clinical Linguistics and Neurolinguistics and thus studying agrammatism and morpho-syntactic deficits in the aphasia population. Then, I studied cerebral lateralization of figurative language through Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (Ph.D. dissertation) and now the role of motor cortex inaction language.

After completing a Master's degree in General Health Psychology at CEU San Pablo, I have started a PhD in neuroscience at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM). Along this path, I will study the non-motor symptoms of Parkinson's disease before and after the HIFU procedure. In addition, I will focus on inhibitory learning in the early stages of Parkinson's disease. I also love powerlifting, animals, learning new languages and spending time with the people I love.

I obtained a Psychology degree (UNED) and a master's degree in neuroscience (at the Institute of Neuroscience of Alicante). Now I'm now following my passion into research thanks to a PhD scholarship (from the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”, Naples, Italy) trying to explain the different roles of dopamine in human decision-making systems. At CINC (Alcalá de Henares, Madrid, Spain), I combine behavioral experiments with computational modelling, my own theoretical ideas, neuroimaging and neuromodulation techniques to answer the scientific questions. In my free time, I love writing, listening to a lot of music genres, hiking and biking as well as videogames.

After a B.Sc. degree in Software Engineering at the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM, 2017), I obtained a M.Sc. degree in Biomedical Engineering at the San Antonio University of Murcia (UCAM) in 2019. Then, I collaborated in neuroscience projects such as the Human Brain Project (HBP) at UPM (2017- 2019). Currently, Im conducting a PhD in neuroscience in the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and HM-CINAC focusing on studying habitual behaviour with tasks and neuroimaging studies making use of computational models. I also enjoy watching movies/tv shows, videogames, and programming as a hobby.

Following my Master’s degree in Neuropsychological Assessment and Rehabilitation (Camilo José Cela University, 2021), I have now been awarded a scholarship for a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience (University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”, Naples, Italy) and HM-CINAC (Madrid). I will focus on deciphering how dopamine modulates emotional, motivational and habitual performance in patients with Parkinson’s Disease. I aim to execute a series of behavioural tasks and neuroimaging studies to solve the questions. Other passions include clinical neuropsychology. In my free time, you can find me exercising (gym and calisthenics, mainly), reading or playing videogames.
MASTER
Belén Lebrijo
After graduating as sports psychologist, I am currently pursuing a Master’s in Cognitive Neuroscience (URJC). My passion for sports extends beyond my professional work, as I have also been an athlete myself. My current research topic focuses on the psychological effects of group therapy on patients struggling with sexual behavior addiction. My love for psychology began during my studies at the University of Guelph (Ontario, Canada). Additionally, I am deeply committed to mental health, particularly in working with patients suffering from acquired brain injury and promoting the overall well-being of both patients and their families.

After obtaining a Psychology degree at UMH, I am currently pursuing a Master’s in Cognitive Neuroscience and Neuropsychology at URJC, with a grant given by the CSIC. For my Master’s thesis, I aim to unravel the cognitive mechanisms and electrophysiological activity involved in action inhibition by analyzing ERPs in EEG recordings in healthy subjects. I have a deep passion for research that began when I did a year abroad at Michigan, USA, and I continued carrying it out in both national and international contexts such as Florence, Italy or Instituto de Neurociencias de Alicante, Spain. My main interest outside the lab is anything music related, from listening to it to (attempting to) dj.
